Back to School 2012

OK...so I mentioned before that I knew I had been VERY delinquent with my posting, but goodness! At the risk of sounding like a very broken record...I can't believe I haven't posted in soooo long! However, I just spent several hours uploading photos all the way back from May to the present...so am I REALLY that surprised that the blog has suffered too?? No. I most certainly am not.

I wanted to post pictures from today's FIRST DAY back to school. We now have a first grader, Luke, a 6th grader, Summer, and an 8th grader, Kyla. I am in total denial. Perhaps I will just pretend they are 1, 6, and 8 instead.

The morning started off with all three kids getting out of bed without even a prompting! I joked with Kyle that I hoped that they would have the same response by Friday...He replied, "Who are you kidding!?! You'll be lucky to have that response by TOMORROW!" He's probably right!!!

His work schedule had him off today...so he was able to fix the kids his traditional first day of school 'egg bread' breakfast. They all have their own various ways to eat it...but they all enjoy it to NOOO end!

Summer - She enjoys Egg Bread with Syrup

Luke - He enjoys Egg Bread with Honey

Kyla - She enjoys Egg Bread with Nutella (really??) :)

After a hearty breakfast, it was time for Mom to torture everyone with the back to school photo shoot. You know. The one where everyone is required to stand by the front door..one shot full body and one close up...at least...or possibly more if she is feeling particularly nostalgic?? :)  They were all good sports...I must have trained them well...or they have just given up!
Luke with his AWESOME shark backpack...oh! And for those noticing, a fresh new hair cut! Thank goodness he didn't insist on going back to school with that shaggy dog mess of hair!

Summer lookin' sassy for sixth! :) This is the year of the zebra print for her...zebra print backpack, zebra print pencil box, zebra print lunch box, zebra print shoes, zebra print...you get the picture??

How can Kyla be in 8th grade?? I am in D.E.N.I.A.L. sigh.
