Pretty As A Princess

Last weekend was CRAZY!! But the kind of crazy that after all is said and done, and you can finally sit down and put your feet up, you let out a big contented sigh. We had the priviledge to be a part of a wedding of a really neat couple last weekend. Summer and Kyla met Megan at church - she volunteered up in KidzVenture, CrossPoint's kidz ministry to grades 1-6. Both girls fell in love with her instantly, but Summer almost became her stalker. She would scan the sanctuary after church to see if she could find her...just to say 'hi'...and Megan was always so kind to take a few moments for her! Megan honored Summer by asking her to be her flower girl! And so began the countdown to Flower Girl Day...also known as Chris & Megan's wedding - ha! I haven't had time to make slideshows of the wedding or the rehearsal, but in keeping with my resolution to blog more, I wanted to go ahead and get a few photos posted...for fear that time would get away from me! There were several firsts for Summer this weekend...
She had her FIRST professionally styled up-do.

Her FIRST time as a flower girl.

And her very FIRST limo ride.

One of the things that I explained to Summer - half-joking, half-NOT - was that no one was supposed to 'up-stage' the bride on her very special day. I told her that she would have to try VERY hard not to be too cute or too pretty...especially NOT prettier than the bride! To which she quickly replied - "But Mom! I WANT to!" Now do you see why we called it Flower Girl Day!?!
