One of the things that I explained to Summer - half-joking, half-NOT - was that no one was supposed to 'up-stage' the bride on her very special day. I told her that she would have to try VERY hard not to be too cute or too pretty...especially NOT prettier than the bride! To which she quickly replied - "But Mom! I WANT to!" Now do you see why we called it Flower Girl Day!?!

Pretty As A Princess
Last weekend was CRAZY!! But the kind of crazy that after all is said and done, and you can finally sit down and put your feet up, you let out a big contented sigh. We had the priviledge to be a part of a wedding of a really neat couple last weekend. Summer and Kyla met Megan at church - she volunteered up in KidzVenture, CrossPoint's kidz ministry to grades 1-6. Both girls fell in love with her instantly, but Summer almost became her stalker. She would scan the sanctuary after church to see if she could find her...just to say 'hi'...and Megan was always so kind to take a few moments for her! Megan honored Summer by asking her to be her flower girl! And so began the countdown to Flower Girl Day...also known as Chris & Megan's wedding - ha!
I haven't had time to make slideshows of the wedding or the rehearsal, but in keeping with my resolution to blog more, I wanted to go ahead and get a few photos posted...for fear that time would get away from me! There were several firsts for Summer this weekend...
She had her FIRST professionally styled up-do.
Her FIRST time as a flower girl.
And her very FIRST limo ride.

Let's Rodeo San Antonio...
I must say that seeing some of the animals and watching the show itself gave me a bit of stock show fever. I could remember the fun that I had showing both sheep and pigs...and I hope that one day my kids can have the same experience...even if it is just Guadelupe County and not as large of a show as San Antonio.

Crash & Burn???
I do NOT want to crash and burn at my New Year's resolution to blog more often, but I fear that I just don't have time to do all of things I WANT to do. A dear friend of mine once lamented to me that her 'life' sure did get in the way of her hobbies. We laughed and laughed! She was referring at that time to scrapbooking. The irony wasn't lost on us that without that 'life' there would be NOTHING to scrapbook - and thus the catch 22 begins.

Well, I have taken some time over the past couple of weeks to scrapbook. I thought I would share a few pics of some of my favorite creations. I apologize for the quality...I have yet to master a way to take a picture of the pages...my scanner is not large enough to scan a whole 12x12 page. Perhaps if you squint your eyes it will help it to appear a little less fuzzy. ha! :) I almost forgot to mention that I am FIVE years behind in my scrapbooking - so these 'little' girls that you see here...ages 3 (almost 4) and 5 (almost 6) have changed TREMENDOUSLY...but I still see them in the young ladies they are today!
