New Year Resolution....

Perhaps my New Years resolutions should include updating my blog more frequently -- especially since I put the address on my Christmas card mailout! However, between getting ready for Christmas, having all 3 kids at home 24-7 for Christmas break, and Kyle being in Pennsylvania all this week I feel like I am just now coming up for air. ha!

Let me tell you - it was a wonderful kind of strange to not have to log 2000+ travel miles during Christmas break this year! For the first time in 13 years of marriage - we were at our home on Christmas morning. To tell you the truth - we have always enjoyed being with our family at Christmas and NEVER considered it a "hardship" to travel out for the holidays...but NOT having to travel was REALLY nice! We had soooo much time after Christmas to just relax and enjoy the holiday break. I sang at church for our Christmas Eve services, so my family drove over to hear me sing and spent Christmas Eve night with us. It was fun to host them for a change!

Christmas Day included opening presents, presents, and more presents! I think that was the hardest adjustment for me. In the previous years we would have Christmas w/the kids BEFORE we left for Texas, then Christmas with my family, and then Christmas with Kyle's family. That meant at least 3 different days of opening presents and celebrating the holidays with family. Spending 3 days opening presents always made me feel that all the CRAZY preparation of the holidays was well-enjoyed. This year we jammed all of that into 1 day and I felt like by the end it was a flurry of wrapping paper, gift boxes, and Christmas goodies! :0) I don't want it to sound like I am complaining - I wasn't a bad day...just different than what we have been use to for so many years! I certainly enjoyed seeing everyone - and the 25 minute drive from our home to my in-laws was WONDERFUL!!

I will post some holiday pictures in a few more days...I didn't take any w/my digital (of course...because I can never seem to remember to do that)...but I have my film developed...I'll scan a few in and post them.

It was wonderful to hear from so many of you over the holidays! How I love to hear what ya'll are up to and share your photos with my family! I hope that you all will keep us on your lists throughout the years so that we will not loose touch - we may be far away geographically...but you will always be close to us in our hearts!.....More later!
